Take a look at the Phasor Kickstarter page, for a development board targeted towards Internet-of-Things (IoT) devices. Think of it as an Arduino, with 10 GPIO pins that also has a Wi-Fi module for $20 USD. The Phasor team also developed an "Arduino IDE"-like programming environment, to help newcomers get started quickly. Phasor measures 1.2"x0.8" inches (30.5 x 20.3 mm).

The Wifi module can also be used to setup an Access Point and has built-in functionality that lets you control the GPIO pins through a web page without writing any code.

The team currently offers a 128x32 graphical OLED display shield and shield with screw terminals for 120V AC loads. Additional shields are envisioned, but are subject to stretch goals.

Keep in mind the dangers of Kickstarter and take a look at the Kickstarter page here.
