The Banana Pi, created by OSSUG Company, promises to be a viable alternative to the Raspberry Pi, which with its 700 Mhz processor is a bit dated. The Banana Pi addresses some of the shortcomings of the R-Pi and offers an Allwinner A20 dual-core processor with 1GB of RAM. The Banana Pi comes with the same 26 GPIO header as its competitor. The single-board computer supports SD cards and also features a SATA socket to connect a hard-drive. It also comes with a convenient power and reset button. For more information take a look at the manufacturer website (which is a bit sparse). You can purchase the Banana Pi at Alieexpress for $50.
